Derbyshire Day Dos

Day 2, Baptism by fire into Village life. 2 words.  Coffee morning. Suffice to say felt like like total blundering intruder. .. not only have I not lived here for a minimum of 15 years but I'm Australian! But that feeling was summarily dismissed by everyone's welcoming kindness. ..not to mention some rather delicious scones!

Derbyshire Day Uno

Travelling from London to the countryside was a shock. ... there is just so so much greenery. ..a totally different hue to our murky Australian version.
Walking around the Peat district national park surrounding the picturesque town (Sorry Village!) of Youlgrave I literally can't get over the beauty of the countryside.  In a way it feels a little unreal. .. like I have to pinch myself  wherever I look at the scenery. Here is what some of my post jet lag rambles looked like. Xx

London Day Uno

Jet lag aside London was subtly overwhelming. We arrived shortly before six am and the whole day I spent looking.
Far too much to look at. Eyes blurring at all the sights. ..architecture, people,  dogs, grass. . It really is the little things that startle you... I was just itching to explore it all but the car seat I perched on was much more comfortable than the itty bitty plane seat I'd sprawled over for the last 27 and a half hours. So I just sat and stared. This is what my first day looked like.
